Summary:

The Imaging Scheduler performs scheduling for all Radiation procedures. Schedules all invasive and non-invasive radiology and special interventional procedures. Collects and compiles accurate information for hospital records and timely reimbursement. Coordinates procedures accurately to ensure proper equipment, time, personnel, and location. Demonstrates technical expertise in all aspects of scheduling. Maintains effective patient flow. Completes the Scheduling process in a timely manner to assist in prompt treatment of the patient. Assists with the scheduling process by maintaining Radiology schedules in collaboration with the health care team, maintaining and achieving fiscal and quality care goals. Multi-task oriented with the ability to prioritize and coordinate the essential job function. Maintains effective working relations with coworkers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital staff members to insure workflow effectiveness. Greets and assists all customers and visitors, and coworkers whether in person or by telephone, using guest relation techniques while professionally representing the visions and values of the company.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1. Schedule patients accurately and in a timely manner.

2. Obtain patient information for hospital admission/registration office.

3. Explains the prep requirements accurately to the patient or office staff.

4. Avoids HIPAA violations by choosing the correct MRN in Radiant/Cadence/Epic.

5. Provides excellent customer service using 'Simply Better' and AIDET principles.

6. Ability to understand insurance requirements and ask for authorization numbers when required.

7. Ability to answer calls timely, and professional manner.

8. Verify physician suspension and privilege lists.

9. Maintain effective patient flow and complete the scheduling process.

10. Provide excellent customer service and maintain effective working relations with coworkers, office staff and hospital staff members.

11. Ability to be at work and be on time.

12. Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and directives.

13. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.

14. Ability to prioritize and multitask.


Experience

* One year experience in Radiation Oncology or scheduling associated experience preferred.

* Knowledge of medical terminology or Radiation Oncology procedures preferred.

* Proficient in computer functions, data entry and windows platform required.


Education

* High school diploma or GED required

* Medical terminology course preferred.

* Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
