Summary of Responsibility As a Principal Applications Engineer you will use your technical skills to identify and provide dependable solutions for our diverse customer base. Managing customer projects, demonstrations, and other customer related questions to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. The Principal Applications Engineer is the first line of support for our customer experience. The person filling this role is responsible for handling multiple high-level technical tasks that surround the use and implementation of CAM software, CNC Machining of complex parts, and working on multi Axis CNC Machines. The Engineer will also work with pre-sales to assist on quotes for customers application. Being flexible to work on multiple tasks at one time. What You Will Contribute: Using a 5 axis Mill turn machine to complete complex parts Aerospace experience in materials, feeds and speeds, processing and setup is a requirement Making accurate engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, or multi-tasking machines Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company Provide technical support to existing customers Documentation for engineering systems Customer part programs and training. Qualifications & Competencies: A.S/B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or 10 years of related field service 8-10 years industry experience as a CNC Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer, Applications Engineer, etc. 8-10 years CAD/CAM Experience Experience with CNC machining, part programming and knowledge of the manufacturing industry Cross functional team collaboration Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (word, excel, power point) Pragmatic problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications: NX/UG, SolidWorks, Esprit, or Master CAM experience preferred, but any 3D CAD software experience is a plus Intimate knowledge of modern tooling and work holding solutions Expertise with various Machine Tool brands and commonly used controls (Okuma)(Fanuc) What's in it for You: We take great pride in our employees and offer a variety of benefits that allow our employees to be successful inside and outside of work: Competitive starting salary Market competitive comprehensive health benefits including a zero premium medical plan offering, vision, dental, and company paid life insurance 3+ Weeks' Vacation to Start 10 Company Paid Holidays 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution Tuition reimbursement Employee appreciation events and perks Employee Assistance Program Mental and physical requirements: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
