U.S. News and World Report named GW Hospital as a High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy) in 2024. This designation means that GW Hospital provides a high standard of care for patients with uncomplicated pregnancies. This designation is the highest award a hospital can earn for U.S. News' Best Hospitals for Maternity Care.

Job Summary



GW Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Interventional Radiology (IR) RN / Special Procedures RN to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology and special procedures. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.



Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology and special procedures.
Monitor patient conditions before, during, and after procedures.
Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures, ensuring sterile techniques and patient safety.
Administer medications and contrast agents as required.
Educate patients and their families about procedures, potential risks, and post-procedure care.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.


Qualifications

Current RN license in the state of Washington, D.C., or DC eligible.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
At least 1 year of nursing experience in interventional radiology, special procedures, ICU or a related field.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
