Base pay range $31.36/hr - $31.36/hr About Client The client is one of the world's largest independent biotechnology companies, focusing on the discovery, development, and manufacturing of innovative human therapeutics. The company's areas of expertise include oncology, hematology, cardiovascular disease, inflammation, bone health, and neuroscience. It has developed a wide range of biologic medicines, including biotechnology drugs, therapeutic antibodies, and other innovative therapies. The company collaborates with academic institutions, biotechnology partners, and other organizations to advance its research efforts. Job Description Work on protein chromatography, filtration, and UF/DF operations, as well as automation programming for chromatography systems and robotic liquid handling systems. Involve in data compilation and analysis; must have lab experience and at least one year working on similar projects. B.S. with 1-2 years lab‑based experience or a strong fundamental degree in BioChem, Chemistry, or BioProcessing; knowledge of chromatography preferred. Support development, characterization, scale‑up, and upstream/downstream processes to enable clinical advancement of programs for the Pivotal Drug Substance Technologies organization. The lab‑based position is located at our Thousand Oaks, CA site. Work in an integrated bioprocess development group where cell‑culture and purification scientists collaborate; opportunity to work on antibodies, BiTEs, and bispecifics. Design and execute bench‑scale experiments spanning the end‑to‑end drug‑substance process, including both cell culture and purification operations. Apply established platform approaches and problem‑solving skills to rapidly solve day‑to‑day experimental challenges. Use out‑of‑the‑box thinking to contribute to laboratory operations, technology development, and process automation. Expand and develop skills in both cell culture and purification, further contributing to the integrated group. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree OR Associate degree and 4 years scientific experience Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or other relevant sciences with a demonstrated record of excellence. Ability to identify, develop and implement solutions to practical problems through application of fundamental scientific and engineering principles, preferably in a process development environment. Basic understanding of protein chromatography, filtration or cell culture principles; hands‑on experience with purification operations is a plus. Familiarity with 5S principles and organization of laboratory workspaces is a plus. Prior experience with data analytical tools (Excel, Spotfire, etc.) is preferred. Motivated self‑starter with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Team player with the ability to successfully work within a diverse team in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment.
