About this role:

The Product Manager, Communicating Controls, Zoning and Digital Technician is responsible for leading with the strategic direction, roadmaps, new product development, portfolio lifecycle management, annual planning, and commercialization for the Infinity wall controls and zoning products. The product manager owns the product value proposition as well as the business viability for communicating controls and accessories as well as digital technician tools. This role will define and drive the development of detailed digital business requirements that enable our digital team to create market leading digital tools for our channel. This role will work closely with 24V thermostat, Energy Storage Products and Energy Storage Solution product managers helping to develop and execute on Carrier’s connected strategy of delivering value to Carrier, our channel, and our homeowners while becoming leaders in the climate and energy solutions space.

Success will require the ability to think strategically, develop innovative solutions, work collaboratively with the equipment and digital teams to ensure successful launches of industry leading technology.

This role will also require strong communication skills and the ability to tailor the message as appropriate for the target audience. The successful candidate will have an innovative customer first mindset and be forward thinking striving to meet the future needs of the market.

The candidate must have balanced knowledge between engineering, HVAC, marketing, innovation and go to market strategy as well as be able to quickly learn and understand the technical aspects of HVAC and DER (Distributed Energy Resource) products. Foundational skills for this role include understanding of the HVAC Market, the ability to work cross collaboratively across the organization, the ability to work independently with minimal oversight, and general business management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops strategic vision and market entrance strategies for Carrier in the Wall Control, and Zoning Product categories.
  • Ability to develop GTM strategies for the HVAC channel and influence the organization to creatively develop sales and marketing tools to drive adoption of new products.
  • Primary point of contact with Carrier Electronics for Infinity wall controls supply and support.
  • Researches, develops and manages New Product development projects from conception through launch.
  • Clearly articulate digital technician tool business requirements ultimately delivering to the market channel preferred products that include the combination of physical and digital products.
  • Differentiates and positions physical and digital products to ensure customer value and optimize business return.
  • Works regularly with equipment, controls, and digital product managers to build a market leading connected product portfolio.
  • Responsible for prioritizing and guiding the updates to our Infinity wall controls to ensure that our top tier products remain best in class.
  • Clearly articulates product features and value at speaking events such as with internal stakeholders, distributor, dealer, sales, and recruitment meetings.
  • Fosters cross functional integration with product platforms.


Required Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7 + years of experience in one of the following: product management, Marketing, engineering, training, or Business Development

  • Understanding of HVAC product applications and marketplace dynamics.
  • Clear understanding of basic marketing principles
  • Previous experience working with engineering and business/sales is preferred.
  • Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
