Specifically, seeking an experience technical writer with a strong background in developing requirements-based policy and process documentation to be utilized by different stakeholder groups across a medium sized organization. An ideal candidate would also have a strong background in collaborating with senior members of technical staff to update existing documentation and develop new documents when required.

Skills

7-10 years of experience serving as an effective technical writer for a multidisciplinary, cross-functional team.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel.

Proficiency in formatting document, process maps, and other documentation to meet established standards.

Strong ability to work with minimal supervision when formatting documents based on established standards.

Experience working in the defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or technology industries where well defined and developed processes are critical to company success.

Must be able to effectively and efficiently collaborate with junior and senior members of technical staff as well as other key stakeholders when updating and developing documentation.

Can Do, and Let's Move Forward attitude is required as well as the ability to influence others to achieve a common purpose and complete tasks.

Strong time management skills coupled with the ability to work on multiple documents at different stages of completion.

Ability to produce high-quality documentation with minimal supervision following a period of training and seeing examples of ideal documentation.

Desired Skills

Previous experience developing process documentation based on the AS9100 quality standard is highly desirable.

Previous experience decomposing requirements and translating requirements into process documentation to be utilized by different stakeholder groups across an organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in technical or professional writing, communications, or writing.

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Interfacing and engaging with senior members of technical staff and key stakeholders to coordinate document updates based on applicable documentation and gaps in current process documentation.

Producing requirements-based process documentation from a blank page starting position.

Updating existing documentation based on direction from senior members of technical staff and other key stakeholders.

Overseeing formatting across the volume of process documents to assure consistency and conformity to company standards.

Processing completed documents through a document management system with the support of dedicated document managers.
