About the Position Undergraduate Advising Director – Stanford University, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE). The Office of Academic Advising will manage academic advising and progress toward degree for undergraduates in assigned residences. Location: Hybrid (minimum four days on campus, one day remote). In This Role, You Will Provide direct advice to students on academic progress, program policies, career planning, accessibility, community standards, etc. Inform students about research, fellowship, scholarship, and co‑curricular opportunities. Collaborate with other advising directors and colleagues to develop and implement programming and make strategic recommendations. Analyze and develop reporting requirements, portals, and student‑facing communications. Manage outreach programs and relationships with university partners. Resolve substantial issues across multiple areas using advanced technical and professional knowledge. Interpret and implement university policy related to academic policies; oversee implementation of policies and practices for a student population or school. Provide consulting advice to internal and external organizations; act as subject matter expert in a specialized field. To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Advanced communication skills to effectively interact with students, faculty, and staff. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for reviewing and interpreting complex information. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations. Preferred Requirements Advanced degree (PhD preferred). Three years of advising, teaching, and/or research experience. Advanced skills in coaching student decision‑making. Experience guiding and reviewing undergraduate research grants.
