Responsibilities include individual and group support, program development, crisis intervention, collaboration with various stakeholders, and adherence to professional and safety protocols. Social Worker/Mental Health Counselor Job Requirements:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee services designed to support adults with autism and developmental disabilities.
  • Provide crisis intervention, as necessary.
  • Participate as part of the multidisciplinary team in the adult referral and intake process.
  • Organize and lead special programs and groups in conjunction with other clinical staff.
  • Assist in developing Individualized Support Plans (ISP) focused on the unique needs and goals of each member, facilitate the development of behaviorally related implementation strategies/treatment plans, and supervise the training related to the implementation of these programs as part of the multidisciplinary team. Attend ISP meetings as requested.
  • Develop and supervise the training of and implementation of all therapeutic (Positive Behavioral Support) PBS plans.
  • Conduct in-service training classes as needed for PBS overview and de-escalation as well as others as needed.
  • Develop intensive and targeted plans, implement, and monitor all facets of the PBS (Positive Behavioral Support) regulations put forth by DDS.
  • Meet monthly with supervisor to ensure compliance of quality standards regarding program services.
  • Create and foster relationships with DDS and community partners to facilitate collaborative efforts and integration of services.
  • Consult with staff and family/caregivers as needed or requested regarding specific and general behavioral concerns.
  • Contribute to the Human Rights Committee and support its efforts to monitor services and educate members, families, and staff.
  • Participate in all staff meetings, trainings, and workshops as assigned.
  • Provide CPR and first aid to staff and members in the event of an emergency.
