Salary Range: $160,000 - $175,000. We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-oriented Linux Systems Engineer to join our team. This person will manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of servers across on‑premises and cloud environments. To be considered for this position, US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance is required. This is a funded position and is contingent upon verification of a security clearance prior to starting with Cloudshape. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, SUSE) Monitor system performance, apply patches, and ensure security compliance Automate tasks using Bash, Python, or configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) Support cloud infrastructure and virtualization platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, VMware, KVM) Troubleshoot system, network, and application issues; perform root cause analysis Maintain system documentation, generate reports, and contribute to knowledge bases Enforce security best practices and participate in audits or compliance initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree 2–5 years of experience Ability to work independently, multi‑task, and communicate effectively US Citizen with an active Secret security clearance Strong knowledge of networking, security and server virtualization Experience with automation/configuration management tools and scripting Benefits Flexible Work Schedule Paid Time Off Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Company contribution to 401(K) plans without employee contribution Bonus Potential Life Insurance and AD&D Insurance Short‑Term and Long‑Term Disability Insurance Training Assistance Employee Referral Program Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer Cloudshape is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer, making decisions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, national origin, age, veteran status, disability or any other protected class.
