About the Role:
  • Join our dynamic team at DOD as a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in Linux. You'll lead the charge in engineering and technical support, focusing on the Linux platform's design, development, installation, testing, and operation.
  • Your role is crucial in maintaining our enterprise environment's security and efficiency, ensuring compliance with rigorous DoD/USN standards.
  • Key ResponsibilitiLead the engineering efforts for Linux systems, ensuring optimal design, development, installation, testing, and operational standards.
  • Manage Linux-based systems across both unclassified and classified networks, ensuring seamless integration and robust security.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of Linux environments, aligning with strategic objectives and operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with IAVA/B, STIGs, and Navy directives, maintaining the highest security and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system capabilities and support broader organizational goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma/GED with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in Linux systems engineering.
  • Proven track record in Linux system design, development, and management.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Required certifications in relevant technical areas.
Preferred Skills:
  • Advanced problem-solving and technical skills in Linux environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a capacity to lead teams and projects.
  • Strong understanding of DoD/Navy security practices and compliance requirements.

Working Conditions:

Onsite role at NRL facilities in Washington D.C., with potential for telework based on policy.

Adherence to NRL's operational schedules, and environmental, and health and safety policies is mandatory.
