Civil Engineer-Environmental The Civil Engineer-Environmental is a fully qualified professional position, performing specialized engineering duties that relate to protection of public health and the environment. In this position you would be responsible for conducting and reviewing difficult and complex plan reviews, inspections, and hydrological studies; and for preparing and reviewing reports, specifications, technical documents, and plans relating to soil, water, hydrology, land uses, and disposal of solid and liquid wastes, typically for rural unincorporated areas. This may involve review of complex septic systems, stability studies at landfills, and evaluation of soil and water resources and supplies, among other duties. The position acts as a liaison and consults with other agencies and groups in the performance of duties. Position Requirements Experience: Three years of environmental or civil engineering experience with an emphasis on hazardous substances and water quality; at least one year of which should be at a level comparable to Entry Level Civil Engineer. Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required. Licenses: Possession of a valid license as a Registered Civil Engineer or a Professional Engineer in the State of California by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers is required. Driver’s License: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver’s license may be required.
