Duties
Serves as a CHIPS R&D program manager, for one of the Programs in the CHIPS R&D Office. Within each of these programs, duties of the applicant will include leading and providing strategic oversight for program portfolios, serving as a subject matter expert and managing complex projects related to semiconductors and related technologies. Demonstrates advanced expertise in semiconductors and related technologies. Exhibits strategic thinking, innovation, and high-level technical leadership. Analyzes complex technical problems to make strategic decisions. Determines key performance indicators, assesses risks, and ensures long-term programmatic success. Leads significant contributions to semiconductor technologies, influencing industry standards, and driving organizational and industry advancements. Faces highly complex challenges in developing semiconductor technology solutions. Leads diverse technical domains and demonstrates visionary leadership in evolving technological landscapes. Serves as a subject matter expert for any grants, communities of practices, and/or prize challenges related to research portfolios. Assists with budget development and risk-informed
decisions. Convenes stakeholders inside and outside the CHIPS R&D program, including academia, non-profits, industry associations, and small businesses to advance the CHIPS R&D Office strategy.
Requirements Conditions of EmploymentU.S. citizenshipMales born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective ServiceSuitable for Federal employmentCompletion of Confidential Financial Disclosure, Form OGE-450(If the position has a drug testing requirement, please add: Designated and/or random drug testing required)Bargaining Unit Position: No QualificationsBasic Requirements:Degree: physics; or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics.orCombination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education.In either A or B above, the courses must have included a fundamental course in general physics and, in addition, courses in any two of the following: electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics, modern physics, and sound.In addition to the above basic requirements, this position requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 (ZP-IV at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience managing complex projects or programs. Advance knowledge and expertise in semiconductors and related technologies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
