Salary range and posting recency are provided in the job details.What you’ll doImplementation of Digital Realty Design & Engineering Guidelines & Standards across multiple, concurrent projects.Provide strategic and innovative thinking regarding design and engineering of data center development projects.Manage challenging deliverables against aggressive project expectations (within budget and schedule).Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) to Architectural/Engineering consultants and Commissioning Agents.Evaluate proposals and make recommendations on vendor selection.Direct and oversee professional consultants (Architects, Engineers) and equipment suppliers throughout the design process.Lead typical projects including greenfield shell construction, powered base buildings/offices, data center suites, and renovations (suite refreshes, equipment upgrades, end-of-life replacements).Review and approve/deny consultant invoices; track any deviations in the DEG.Apply DLR Design & Engineering Guidelines/Standards to ensure alignment with industry best practices and business objectives, with emphasis on value-engineering.Collaborate with Delivery Team on schedules, budgets, and forecasts for anticipated design and construction expenditures.Review OFCI equipment submittals; make recommendations to Delivery and Procurement teams.Host page-turn meetings; provide feedback on designs, review Sequence of Operations, drawings, Basis of Design documents, commissioning plans and testing scripts.For Build-to-Suit projects, act as primary customer contact and liaise with internal stakeholders (sales, business development).Lead consultant teams, develop detailed work letters (scope, budget with value-engineering emphasis, and schedule) to support leasing activities.Draft and deliver presentations to upper management to adhere to DLR gating process.Develop and maintain vendor relationships to provide cost-effective services for DLR projects.Prepare monthly project reports on budget, schedule, and scope; ensure smooth handoff of reporting to the delivery team.Tour project sites during construction; attend Level 4 and 5 commissioning activities.Participate in internal design team meetings to innovate and recommend new technologies or design concepts.What you’ll needBachelor's degree in a related discipline.Professional License (AIA or PE/PEng) preferred.7+ years of demonstrated project management experience on technically complex projects.7+ years of direct design and/or commissioning experience.Ability to direct and manage internal and external resources.Ability to interpret design drawings, construction drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, budgets and estimates.Excellent understanding of advanced electrical, mechanical, security/monitoring, and fire detection/suppression systems.Comprehensive knowledge of standard practices in the design and construction industry.General knowledge of design and construction terms and contracts; familiarity with basic building code requirements.Computer literate in MS Office and AutoCAD.Financial acumen to review budgets and estimates.Ability to work effectively in a team; self-motivated with minimal oversight.Strong relationship and interpersonal skills.Direct experience on past Digital Realty projects and knowledge of the DEG preferred.Job detailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Design, Art/Creative, and Information TechnologyIndustries: IT Services and IT ConsultingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Digital Realty by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr
