Job Opening: County NurseDepartment: Human ResourcesPosting Date: May 28, 2024Salary: $51,233.00 / AnnuallySummaryThe County Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing at the County and supporting health and wellness in County employees.Essential DutiesThe Health Services Office is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday (with the exception of County government holidays). The County Nurse will:Provide first aid, basic life support measures, over-the-counter medications, medical information and instruction regarding health issues; monitors blood pressure readings and weight for interested individualsProvide medical attention to employees as well as visitors, jurors, witnesses and prisoners attending court who may become ill or injured while visiting the Court House/Government Center complexRespond as needed to departments within the Court House/Government Center complex in emergency situations to evaluate and treat employees, and/or visitors, jurors, witnesses and prisoners attending courtAssist in investigating reports of health hazards such as noxious fumes, excessive dust or noise, etc. and reports conditions to appropriate personnelMaintain a daily log throughout the day of visitors to the Health Services OfficeEvaluate and document employee Worker's Compensation injuries and fills out an Incident Report for each incidentMake reports of injuries to the Personnel DepartmentEvaluate, document and complete Incident Reports for injuries to visitors, jurors, witnesses and prisoners attending courtAssist with annual employee influenza vaccination programServe on the Wellness Committee and coordinate various health initiatives, including blood drivesPerform other duties, tasks and special projects, as requiredQualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing (BSN)Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN), issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of NursingExperience in the Community or Public Health fieldCurrent CPR / First Aid certificationExcellent interpersonal skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to prepare and maintain good nursing records and reportsAbility to maintain confidential information and handle confidential mattersA valid driver's license is requiredDelaware County provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, age, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetics, membership in an employee organization, political affiliation, or status as a veteran in the recruitment, selection, or hiring of its workforce.Reasonable accommodations are available to persons with disabilities during the application and/or interview processes per the Americans with Disabilities Act.
