As we expand our R&D operations with a new center in Silicon Valley, we are looking for a skilled IT Manager/Operator to lead and manage our IT infrastructure.


Role Overview:

The IT Manager/Operator at Sunlune.us will play a key role in setting up and managing our IT infrastructure to ensure smooth, secure, and high-availability operations. You will be responsible for ensuring VPN services, security, and operational reliability across our global R&D teams. This role requires a balance of strategic IT planning, hands-on technical support, and security management. While immediate support for GPU-based AI model fine-tuning and inference is not a priority, it may be required down the road as we scale our AI operations.


Key Responsibilities:

• IT Infrastructure Setup & Management:

• Design, implement, and manage IT infrastructure that meets the needs of the R&D center, including high-availability systems, secure network configurations, and containerized development environments.

• Manage cloud-based services (Google Workspace, collaboration tools) and ensure integration with platforms like Lark Suite, JIRA, GitHub, or GitLab.

• Set up and manage secure VPN services to support international collaboration with our China-based R&D center.

• Proactively assess and plan for future needs, including potential GPU resources for AI workloads.

• Operations & Support:

• Provide hands-on IT support for hardware, software, networking, and containerized development environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Ensure all systems are designed for high availability, with redundancy and failover strategies in place.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime for R&D operations.

• Security & Compliance:

• Implement and maintain robust security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, encryption, and access controls to protect sensitive R&D data.

• Monitor network security, deploy intrusion detection systems (IDS), and manage endpoint security.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal policies, with a focus on protecting intellectual property and data integrity.

• Cloud & SaaS Management:

• Optimize the use of cloud services and SaaS-based collaboration tools to support the R&D team’s workflows and project management.

• Evaluate and integrate new SaaS tools as needed for continuous improvement.

• Collaboration & Communication:

• Act as the IT liaison between local and remote teams, ensuring seamless communication and system integration across different geographies.

• Work closely with AI toolchain, firmware, and SDK teams to support their technical needs.


Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise:

• 5+ years of experience in IT management or system administration, with a focus on secure and high-availability environments.

• Experience with VPNs, firewalls, network security, and cloud-based solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Proficient with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Lark Suite, JIRA, GitHub/GitLab).

Operational Skills:

• Proven track record of managing IT operations in fast-paced R&D environments.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues efficiently.

• Security & Compliance:

• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including VPN security, firewalls, data encryption, and intrusion detection systems.

• Experience in ensuring high-availability systems with redundancy and failover strategies.

• Communication & Leadership:

• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies, including international R&D centers.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
