Restaurant Supervisor: Eastern Standard Kitchen and Drinks Overview of Concept: The Bower plaza in the Fenway is home to three concepts from ES Hospitality - Eastern Standard, reopened after 15 years in Kenmore Square, Equal Measure, a craft cocktail bar, and Standard Italian, a modern Italian restaurant. These concepts, helmed by Garrett Harker, serve brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night drinks to neighborhood visitors, BU students and faculty, residents, and restaurant industry professionals alike. Overview of the Position: The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Assistant General Manager and ES Management team in overseeing the Eastern Standard FOH staff and FOH restaurant operations during service. The primary focus of this role is in-service leadership, connecting with guests and daily operational tasks. This is a part-time, hourly role, ideal for candidates who are excited to learn and grow professionally and who may be considering a restaurant management track. In this role, you will work with talented food and beverage colleagues in a legacy restaurant setting with a multi-daypart, multi-venue layout. Pay range: $30-$40/hour Responsibilities: Assist in the day-to-day supervision of a team of FOH members Participate in restaurant closing shifts and associated duties Lead by example to guide and empower the FOH staff on the floor, maintaining a hands on presence throughout service Focus on ensuring proper steps of service are being followed across all FOH stations and staff: on the door, tableside and support Execute and support the training of new hires in accordance with outlined procedures Focus on cultivating meaningful relationships with guests through guest interaction with the goal of creating returning diners and regulars Qualifications: Minimum 1-2 years experience working in restaurants Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong problem solving skills Who You Are: Hardworking, upbeat, and energetic with the ability to lead by example Genuinely excited by food/beverage and the culinary industry and eager to grow professionally A team player, ready to pitch in wherever needed to ensure the success of the restaurant as a whole Compensation and Benefits: We offer a competitive wages (based on experience), health/dental/vision insurance to full-time employees, 401k, dining discounts, and continuous development and learning opportunities.
