Meet the Team The 15.4 Software Quality Assurance (SQA) team at Silicon Labs ensures the reliability and performance of our wireless software stacks and development tools. We focus on automation, scripting, and continuous integration to validate IEEE 802.15.4–based technologies such as Zigbee, Matter, and OpenThread, which form the backbone of secure, low‑power IoT networks. As part of a global engineering organization, the team collaborates with firmware, DevOps, and systems engineers to maintain Silicon Labs’ reputation for delivering robust, high‑quality wireless connectivity solutions. Responsibilities Develop automated test frameworks and scripts to validate wireless protocol software. Execute test plans and analyze results to ensure the quality, stability, and performance of 15.4‑based stacks and related tools. Support CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and PyTest for continuous validation. Write Pytest scripts and utilities to automate testing, data analysis, and regression checks. Collaborate with software, DevOps, and QA teams to improve automation coverage and process efficiency. Troubleshoot, reproduce, and document software issues in Linux‑based environments. Contribute to the enhancement of internal test infrastructure and quality metrics tracking. Skills You Need (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Strong proficiency in Python programming. Experience working in Linux environments for development, scripting, and debugging. Basic understanding of networking and wireless technologies (e.g., Wi‑Fi or similar). Familiarity with QA methodologies, automated testing frameworks, and version control systems. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with a mindset for quality and efficiency. Additional Qualifications that will be Considered a Plus Knowledge of IEEE 802.15.4 wireless technologies, including Zigbee or OpenThread. Working exposure to AI tools such as CursorVS code, CoPilot, and ChatGPT. Hands‑on experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitHub CI. Experience using PyTest or other Python‑based testing frameworks. Understanding of network analysis, packet sniffing, or debugging tools for wireless protocols. Familiarity with software test automation frameworks or infrastructure development. Prior project or internship experience supporting SQA or DevOps automation in embedded or wireless systems. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
