Join to apply for the Director of Operations - Bruceton Ag role at BFS. The Director of Operations oversees all operational aspects of the entire portfolio of stores. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Drive Sales and Profits: Challenge store teams to increase top line sales, margin, and deliver operational metrics. Partner with Store Managers to develop solutions for business-related issues and opportunities. Verify execution of merchandising initiatives. Ensure effective expense control, labor spend, and Profit/Loss management. Protect company assets and help stores reduce shrink by adhering to loss prevention standards. Build the Team: Recruit and hire Store Managers; support hiring and staffing decisions, training, coaching, succession planning, performance reviews, and retention. Maintain a safe and productive work environment. Lead execution of company standards: Ensure compliance to inventory management, validate pricing accuracy and promotional activities, verify loss prevention and audit compliance, and support continuous improvement. Goal setting and customer loyalty: Handle and resolve customer complaints, ensure a positive shopping experience, analyze reporting, and coach customer engagement. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of retail leadership experience; multi‑unit store management experience preferred. Preferred Skills and Knowledge Experience in farming, pet/equine, lawn/garden retail preferred. Expertise in profit/loss, scheduling, shrink control, payroll management, staffing, hiring, supervision, and counseling. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office products. Willingness to work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business dictates. Valid driver’s license. Working Conditions Normal office working conditions. Occasional travel required. Physical Requirements Sitting, standing (not walking), walking, kneeling/stooping/bending. Driving a vehicle. Reaching overhead. Lifting 50+ pounds.
