Summary

The Supervisor will manage the activities of the yard team by providing clear direction, monitoring progress, and providing feedback to ensure that company goals are met. The role of the yard team is to ensure that the vehicles in the yard have a known location and arre moved as needed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Primary
  • Ensure every team member is trained to perform their tasks.
  • Ensure that each employee follow Glovis policies and procedures.
  • Review the daily goals with the team and assign responsibilities as needed.
  • Plan, organize, and manage the work of employees to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
  • Ensure the correct vehicles are pulled and that they are delivered to the correct locations.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to help ensure the overall daily company goals are met.
  • Ensure all repair orders are opened and moved to designated area(s) in a timely manner.
  • Ensure any units that can't be repaired by Glovis is returned to the designated area for the plant to repair.
  • Ensure the battery area is clean, keeping battery inventory, rotating and picking up as necessary.
  • Ensure the car wash area is clean and maintained, report known issues for maintenance.
Secondary
  • Ensure new hires are trained properly.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, training or discipline as needed.
  • Monitor vehicle repair time for aged maintenance.
  • Monitor employee time cards and address any attendance point accumulation.
  • Collaborate with KaGA repair team and move repair vehicles in a timely manner by KaGA's request.
Tertiary
  • Provide feedback to employees regarding performance.
  • Prepare disciplinary notices and conduct counseling sessions with employees regarding performance deficiencies and/or failure to abide by established procedures and safe work practices.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews of all subordinates.
  • Approve or deny time off requests.
  • Provide accident report to safety team and follow up accident reviews.

This position works in a plant manufacturing/warehouse setting.
