Work Shift: Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Medical Assistant II (Non-Certified) is responsible for assisting clinicians in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the physician. Position will be conducting primarily back office functions.Provides back-office support and may occasionally provide front office support. Greets patients in a friendly, service-oriented manner in compliance with Carelon Health Care Center (CCC) or Medical Group Practice protocols and workflows. Oversees patient check in by ensuring medical records/charts have been pulled, patient data is current, appropriate paperwork is in order, and charts are reviewed/prepared. Completion of a Medical Assistant program or medical experience or healthcare clinical experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained from an accredited school of training or certificate from a national certifying agency within one year. For Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position. Phlebotomy certification desired. Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred. Bilingual communications skill in English/Spanish highly preferred.
