Claims Assistant

Description Old Republic Surety Company is on the lookout for a Claims Assistant to join our vibrant Claims Team. What You'll Be Doing: Support the Team: Set up new claim files in our claim processing system, obtain necessary underwriting information, and collaborate with adjusters on next steps. Be the Go-To Guru: Prepare correspondence using departmental templates and adjuster-scripted written copy. Compose and type inter-departmental memos, letters, and claim acknowledgments as needed. Data Dynamo: Prepare and type standard and custom reports, comparisons, and spreadsheets to assist adjusters with claim determinations. Customer Service Star: Answer incoming telephone calls, determine next steps, and provide excellent customer service. Organizational Pro: Establish and maintain internal records, lists, and files as required by internal audit and/or assigned adjuster. Mail Master: Process incoming mail to identify whether it pertains to a new or existing claim. File, scan, photocopy, and distribute within the Department as appropriate. Email Expert: Monitor the claims department email inbox, distribute to adjusters, or respond as needed. Bill & Payment Assistant: Assist with processing legal bills, reserves, loss payments, and pursued recoveries, some of which may require complex reasoning skills. Qualifications: This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, at least one year of related experience, and proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products.
