A Quality Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Fairport, NY area. This role ensures product quality, handles non-conformances, collaborates across teams, and supports continuous improvement and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, while reporting to a Quality Supervisor.

salary: $17.52 - 28.32 per hour
work hours: 8am to 4pm
education: Associates

responsibilities:

  • Report directly to a Quality Supervisor.

  • Focus on quality disposition of Advanced Optics parts and materials.

  • Review and release product and material documentation.

  • Act as a liaison between the Plant and key stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, Procurement).

  • Ensure product quality and compliance with requirements.

  • Disposition production events related to part and material non-conformances.

  • Monitor metrics related to job responsibilities.

  • Support plant safety programs and contribute to a safe working environment.

  • Meet department requirements for safety, quality, and cost.
Skills:

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • strong cross-functional communication skills.

  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and processes.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience in quality control within a manufacturing or technical function.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.

  • Experience interpreting procedures and work instructions.
Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree + 2 years of experience in manufacturing/production, or

  • High school diploma + 5 years of experience in manufacturing/production.
