Quality Technician

Job SummaryThe Quality Technician will work directly with the Quality Supervisor, focusing on the quality disposition of Advanced Optics parts and materials, ensuring compliance with product and material documentation, and acting as a liaison between the plant and key stakeholders. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, and Procurement, to drive an improved customer experience with our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure product quality and compliance with requirements.
- Handle production events related to part and material non-conformances.
- Monitor metrics aligned with job responsibilities.
- Support plant safety programs to maintain a safe working environment.
- Meet departmental safety, quality, and cost objectives.
- Identify root causes and drive improvements for production issues.
- Contribute to process simplification and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform administrative tasks for production events, ensuring they progress through the system and are completed efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with 2 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment, OR
- High school diploma with 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Proficiency in multitasking and prioritizing work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new technology and processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in quality control within a manufacturing or technical role.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
- Experience in interpreting procedures and work instructions.
Soft Skills
- Flexibility to work within a dynamic team and train others.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
Education: High School
