The Office of Facilities Planning and Management (OFPM) in the School of Medicine at Stanford University is responsible for planning and managing the facilities needs of the School of Medicine community in areas such as facilities operations, capital planning and budgeting, and project delivery. We are seeking a Space Data Manager who will oversee and manage space data analytics and reporting for the School of Medicine. This position is hybrid. Duties Serve as the primary contact and subject matter expert on all Space of Medicine (SoM) space and occupancy information, including data classification, coding, and reporting requests. Create and perform space planning scenario modeling for large SoM planning projects, contributing to Stanford Medicine integrated space planning for joint projects. Develop and implement a consistent process across SoM to input and maintain accurate space data in our Stanford University space data systems. Design and utilize space data reporting to inform strategic space planning and communicate findings to senior leadership and planning committees. Use advanced analytical, database management, and data mining software to develop and disseminate reports to stakeholders. Collect data for space metrics and KPIs for the monthly Tableau dashboard, analyze trends, and lead the annual Space Data Certification process across SoM. Facilitate the annual Inter‑entity Reporting process representing SoM and create a tracking system for all space MOUs involving Stanford Medicine entities. Manage multiple activities in a deadline‑oriented environment, organizing multiple requests from internal and external customers. Lead and supervise the OFPM Space Management Team, managing professional development and providing strategic direction. - Other duties may also be assigned. Desired Qualifications Experience with space management and/or space planning. Ability to develop insightful business intelligence reports (KPIs, metrics, ad hoc queries) and dashboards. Experience with space database management (e.g., Archibus). Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Experience in AutoCAD, Excel Visual Basic, PLSQL, Oracle, OBIEE, and Tableau. Broad understanding of system integration, database structures, and field mappings. Previous Stanford experience is a plus. Education & Experience (Required) Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with expertise in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics, or engineering. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required) Advanced experience with analytical software, database management, reporting, user interface and query software, and data mining tools. Advanced ability to collect data through various methods, including data mining and documentation review. Advanced use of complex statistical tools and techniques. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to convey findings and influence senior leadership. Capability to manage multiple activities in a deadline‑oriented, detail‑focused environment. Logical thinking and data construction skills. Experience working with data of varying complexity, quality, and validity. Clear data presentation skills to meet user requirements. Effective management of customer requests. Proven project leadership experience with users/clients. Physical Requirements Constant desk‑based computer tasks. Frequent sitting, sorting, filing, gracing lightly, and using fine manipulation; lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Occasional write‑by‑hand, twisting, bending, stooping, and squatting. Rarely standing, walking, reaching or working above shoulder height, and using a telephone.
