Admissions and Employee Health Nurse Manager

Job Summary:
The manager role is responsible for all aspects of employee health disease, exposure, pre-employment, and annual requirements. The manager is responsible for record keeping for all of employee health documents and reports. The manager is a registered professional nurse manager who is responsible for conducting inpatient Care Management; and Swing Bed admission/recruitment process consistent with the goals and objectives of the department and mission, vision, and values of the organization. The manager is responsible for coordinating with system hospitals for admission referrals.
Qualifications / Job Requirements:
Education / Skills Required:
• Minimum 2-year college degree in nursing field. BSN preferred.
• Must be a Registered Nurse (RN), licensed in good standing in NYS. Must obtain BSN within four years of position acceptance.
• Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
• Two year’s relevant clinical work (ambulatory care setting) with similar experience required. Assessment and screening for employee health preferred.
• Case management accreditation required by a nationally recognized accrediting body for case management (examples: CCM, ACM or ANCC certifications), preferred
• Knowledge/Special Skills:
• Knowledge of case management standards of practice, insurance structures, Medicare and Medicaid rules, and regulations, clinical practice guidelines, and quality issues related to utilization management with application for appeals and denials management.
• Knowledge of team/small group principles and dynamics
• Demonstrates strong communication (verbal & written) skills and ability to engage and provide education to various sized groups and audience.
• Demonstrates a desire to build honest and trustworthy relationships with all individuals.
• Exhibits an understanding of their own culture as well as individual beliefs, identities, values, and biases and how they contribute to their interpersonal style.
• Computer technology is highly preferred. Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft programs.
• Understands quality assurance, performance improvement methods and tools, and continuous improvement theory.
• Data collection and analysis experience are desirable.
• Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills to interact with patients, staff, and community organizations.
• Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills to interact with patients, patient’s families, staff, other department staff, and Physicians.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must possess skilled analytical and logical thought processes.
• Must possess leadership, guidance, be a resource and collaboration.
• Proficiency with computer skills, especially Microsoft office and organizational EMR
• Must be able to work outside the normal working hours as volume demands.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
