We are currently searching for an experienced Senior Transportation Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in El Paso, TX. To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a licensed Texas P.E. and 15+ years of progressive transportation/roadway experience. This is an exciting opportunity to help expand our services across Texas, manage the operations of the Texas Engineering staff, and oversee projects. The role involves complex engineering design tasks, marketing, business development, and client contact. Additional responsibilities include managing project delivery profitably, troubleshooting, and active involvement in design issues. What You’ll Be Doing Manage transportation projects to meet financial and technical requirements Recruit, develop, and retain El Paso staff Perform contract negotiations Project work planning Supervise the execution of work Prepare and deliver technical presentations Oversee roadway design projects Assist with statewide design delivery What You Need To Have B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program Licensed Texas P.E. 15+ years of transportation/roadway experience 5+ years in management of engineering/support staff Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer Strong project management skills Ability to manage and assist in design deliverables Experience with TxDOT and El Paso projects Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory MVR Why Volkert?
