Major Accountabilities Drives discovery and project execution to solve problems in healthcare that leverages Boehringer's technical and business strengths. Conducts primary and secondary market research independently through clinician interviews and leveraging surgical and medical databases. Seeks out new avenues of growth, develops relationships with clinician KOLs, internal Boehringer team members and other partners in the industry. Persuades internal and external stakeholders by creating well researched business proposals that integrate market research, clinician feedback, device competitors, and reimbursement analysis delivered through data rich presentations. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable in a clinical environment and presenting to medical professionals. We are looking for a self-directed, team oriented and passionate team member that can play a key role in bringing new products from conception to commercialization. Essential Responsibilities include: Collaborate with in-house engineering and outside clinical professionals for product ideas that address important medical needs. Research and verify important medical needs through online research and through interviews with clinical professionals. Independently research and obtain market information using public databases and accessing clinicians. Identify/assess market opportunities and product needs within target markets. Generate and manage clinical contacts who can provide primary data relative to market opportunities and product needs. Be the expert and on-site support contact on products within development. Propose product offerings, feature sets, pricing and distribution for new medical device concepts. Coordinate local test market programs for new products and provide feedback on elements of success and failure. Qualifications required for the position: Bachelor's degree in Biomedical, Biomechanical, Biological Engineering or, Bachelor's degree with Anatomy and Physiology course-load such as Nursing, Pre-med, Biology, Kinesiology, Health Sciences. Post-graduate degree (including MBA, ME, or MS) is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence key stakeholders within the medical profession. Previous experience in a start-up or self-employed is a plus. Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
