**Job Summary:**
The Commercial Lending Officer is responsible for providing support, direction, credit information, and loan policies and procedures to ensure the overall quality of Prospect Bank's lending portfolio. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial lending practices, risk management, and portfolio analysis.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Financial Analysis:** Collect and analyze financial information to support loan approval/denial decisions, ensuring compliance with Prospect Bank's lending standards.
- **Credit Quality:** Pay particular attention to credit quality and ensure the bank stays within or under the quality standards set for Prospect Bank.
- **Loan Management:** Oversee and manage the correction of past due loans, monitor loan file exceptions outstanding, and collect delinquent loans.
- **Problem Loans:** Recommend charge-offs of problem loans and collect charged-off loans.
- **Regulatory Compliance:** Ensure compliance with applicable Prospect Bank regulations for all lending practices.
- **Loan Products:** Coordinate and develop loan products and programs consistent with Prospect Bank's goals and practices.
- **Customer Confidentiality:** Adhere to customer confidentiality and information security programs for the lending function.
- **Training and Development:** Assist in development and implementation of training, continuing professional development, and benchmarking for lending services employees.
- **Reporting:** Prepare monthly loan portfolio reports for the Board of Directors.
**Qualifications:**
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred. Ability of critical thinking and problem-solving, good communication and presentation skills required. Knowledge of rate and risk structure of portfolio management, experience with commercial, consumer, and mortgage lending required.
