As a software developer, you will be part of a diverse team that creates applications?installed onboard Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. You will play a primary role in the research, design, development, and lifecycle management of these applications, while working to develop innovative future solutions. Developing high quality code adhering to cybersecurity principles
• Performing unit testing
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
• Publication of software documentation, including design, technical specification, and end-user documentation



Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.



Degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred
Development experience with C#, Java, or other programming languages
Knowledge of software engineering practices and software lifecycle models
Experience in automating tasks using a scripting language
Experience in developing automated unit tests
Experience in developing and deploying services in a Microsoft Operating System environment
Familiarity with database architectures

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.
