Solutions Architect – FSI

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS) AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small‑ and mid‑market accounts to enterprise‑level customers including public sector. As a Solutions Architect, your primary responsibilities include owning the technical engagement and driving customer success, developing deep expertise on the AWS technology stack and a broad understanding of how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform, and guiding customers on a successful cloud journey. You’ll solve complex technical challenges so customers can focus on their business. This includes crafting scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures. You’ll drive technical solution discussions, diving deep into details with customer teams. Building relationships to understand our customers and partners is key. As a trusted technical advisor, you’ll use interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders from technical teams to executives, ensuring short‑term technology decisions align with long‑term goals. Speeding up adoption of our services will be part of your day‑to‑day work. You’ll also act as a thought leader in the wider community. This includes learning, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers, blogs, and running workshops. You won’t just be part of an industry movement; you’ll be leading it. As a customer‑obsessed advisor, you’ll shape the direction of our products and services by gathering customer feedback while collaborating with engineering and service teams. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud DevOps Engineering) AWS certification, such as AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification. Experience explaining complex technical concepts to various business and technical audiences Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc. 15 years’ experience as a Solution Architect or related role. Preferred Qualifications Background in any of the following or related roles: Technology Architect, Consultant, Cloud Architect, Technical Lead, Software Developer, Engineering Lead, Sales Engineer, Pre‑Sales Engineer or Systems Engineer. Experience and/or deeper understanding in one or more technology areas; specific knowledge in multiple technology domains (e.g., software development/architecture, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics). Can create proof of concepts, demos, and/or scripts from scratch or leveraging reusable components. Understands and can articulate common architectural patterns and design principles. Can take the lead on a complex technical project, which may require the participation of other teams to deliver. Able to create technical content that is easily adopted and reusable by others.
