Our Independence location serves ages 12-18 and their families in person at our beautiful clinic just outside of the Kansas City area.

We are seeking a cook to join our dynamic team in Independence, MO

Responsibilities:

As a Cook, you will be supported by experienced leadership and administrative teams committed to the mission of facilitating lasting positive change for young people and their families by:

  • Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use. Washes, cuts, and prepares foods designated for cooking.
  • Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe, using variety of kitchen utensils and equipment (such as blenders, mixers, and knives).
  • Prepares all food items, such as soups, sauces, and roasts, vegetables, etc. and any and all other foodstuffs as needed.
  • Monitors the need for repairs and upkeep on kitchen equipment including facilitating their repair.
  • Maintains the quality and freshness of food by regularly inspecting food items each shift.
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in the work area.
  • Maintains clean attire and hygiene appropriate to the preparation of food.
Qualifications:
  • Must Possess current ServSafe or Food Handlers certification
  • Commercial and/or institutional cooking/chef experience -OR- a similar combination of advanced experience, apprenticeship, training and/or education approved by the Kitchen Manager.
  • Considerable knowledge of food service operation including large quantity food preparation; general nutrition; receiving and food storage; food service sanitation and safety.
  • Skill in operating various institutional/commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a professional attitude.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload to meet ongoing deadlines.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen in concordance with Missouri state laws
  • Ability to pass federal and state background checks
  • Current Missouri driver's license or ability to obtain a Missouri drivers license upon hire
