Electrical/Mechanical Graduate Engineer Role Position: Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Intern – MEP Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota Employment Type: Full-Time Internship Position Overview We are seeking motivated mechanical or electrical engineering interns to support our MEP engineering team in a full‑time capacity. This internship provides hands‑on experience in the design, coordination, and documentation of building systems. Interns will work closely with licensed engineers and project teams to gain exposure to all phases of MEP design and construction support. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing MEP design drawings, schematics, and models using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software. Support mechanical tasks (HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, equipment sizing) or electrical tasks (power distribution, lighting, panel schedules, circuit layouts). Perform load calculations, system analysis, and design verifications under the guidance of engineers. Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for compliance with project requirements and codes. Participate in site visits to observe installations and gather data for design updates. Collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop solutions to design challenges. Assist with documentation, reporting, and project coordination tasks. Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD/BIM software. Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems (coursework or previous projects). Ability to perform engineering calculations and follow design standards. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Preferred Skills Exposure to MEP coordination, construction documents, or BIM modeling. Familiarity with ASHRAE, NEC, or local building codes. Knowledge of energy‑efficient or sustainable design principles. What You’ll Gain Hands‑on experience in MEP system design and coordination.
