Within our retail locations, Pharmacy Managers play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their respective pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for their pharmacy team. As a Pharmacy Manager, you will lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities. You will support program awareness, onboard new hires, and recognize colleagues for their success. Consistently exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and abiding by all legal and regulatory guidelines. Key Responsibilities Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee pharmacy team during bench shifts, coaching and following up on performance. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, collaborating with the patient’s healthcare team, and resolving insurance or medication issues. Offer immunizations and enable Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization practices. Manage pharmacy inventory, focusing on cold chain protection. Conduct onboarding for Technicians and Pharmacists, ensuring timely completion of training and licensure. Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and involve the Rx Director as needed. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline and cross‑training opportunities. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, delivering performance reviews and closing gaps. Write or delegate pharmacy schedule preparation. Review business reporting and develop action plans to improve workflow, service, patient care, and compliance. Cultivate a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, encouraging psychological safety and feedback. Maintain clinical skills through required trainings, CMEs, and continuous learning. Support access to care through pharmacist‑delivered clinical services such as testing and prescribing where permissible. Comply with all federal and state laws, regulations, and CVS Health policies, ensuring patient safety and data privacy. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe. Attention and Focus Concentrate on tasks over time. Pivot quickly from one task to another. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy. Customer Service and Team Orientation Actively look for ways to help people. Notice and understand patients’ reactions; respond appropriately. Communication Skills Use and understand verbal and written communication. Practice active listening and ask clarifying questions. Mathematical Reasoning Use math to solve dispensing problems. Problem Resolution Identify challenging interactions and choose best course of action. Physical Demands Be mobile and remaining upright for extended periods. Lift, scan, and bag items up to 20 lbs. Reach overhead, use hands/arms, and control precision machines. Perform activities requiring close visual acuity. Speak accurately and receive oral instructions. Team Management and Leadership Lead by example and foster a collaborative environment. Delegate, motivate, and provide feedback or discipline as needed. Perform any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3–5 years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings. Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations as needed. Anticipated Weekly Hours 39 Time Type Full time Pay Range $65.00 - $85.00 per hour. This range represents the base hourly rate for all positions in the job grade. The base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors. The position is eligible for bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs.
