OverviewThe Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan is seeking full-time clinical-track faculty members, trained in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, to work within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry services. The successful candidate will participate in clinical care of patients and in the clinical teaching of learners. The U-M Department of Psychiatry involves more than 150 faculty across all areas, robust research programs, busy general and subspecialized clinical programs, and clinical and research training opportunities.We have available positions across the multidisciplinary outpatient setting and inpatient settings. Inpatient setting opportunities include our inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry unit, our new adolescent and teen partial hospitalization program, and providing consultation liaison services to pediatric medical units and emergency room and psychiatric emergency.ResponsibilitiesIn addition to direct patient care, our faculty have the opportunity to:Participate in or lead quality improvement and research effortsProvide mentorship, didactic teaching, and engage in patient care activities with learners in related disciplines including social work and psychologyBecome a leader of the ambulatory clinicQualificationsApplicants must hold an M.D. or equivalent degree, be board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology for both Psychiatry as well as Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and must hold or be eligible for a Michigan medical license. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected. Applicants must have demonstrated promise for an academic career that emphasizes clinical care, teaching, and administration. Superior clinical competencies and master teacher skills are necessary and be an active member in good standing of the University of Michigan Medical Staff.
