Job Description
Our client, Verus, LLC is currently looking for a Director of IT Systems Administration to work on-site in Princeton, NJ

SUMMARY:

The Director of IT Systems Administration will set the direction for the management of information technology throughout the organization, including collaborating with senior leadership on aligning IT capabilities with the business strategy. The Director of IT Systems Administration is responsible for developing the network infrastructure and platform to deliver services, maintenance of business relationships with vendors, budget setting and budget-to-actual tracking, project delivery, security monitoring to ensure compliance with all SOC controls and the management of the company's disaster recovery. With deep experience implementing systems that enable business growth and scalability, the Director of IT Systems Administration collaborates with Business Unit leaders to develop and execute a strategy to ensure a technical infrastructure that can grow with the company's business needs. The Director of IT Systems Administration will stay current on technological advances and set the direction for their team including the definition of roles and responsibilities, structure, processes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • As a key partner to the business, The Director of IT Systems Administration collaborates closely with business units, operations, finance, program management, and analytics teams to ensure that the company employs the right IT systems and tools and that they operate efficiently and effectively in support of corporate goals.
  • Owns, leads, and manages all stages of the development of Verus' new applications, including management of processes, systems, tools, vendors, and their performance. Demonstrated strong leadership and execution enables the Director of IT Systems Administration to drive the development to conclusion, managing all aspects of the project within allocated budgets and time.
  • Serves as systems administrator for legacy platform(s) and works with Business Unit leaders to manage legacy platform performance. Leads migration to/integration with new applications.
  • As the technical owner of the company's CRM system (Salesforce.com), The Director of IT Systems Administration will be responsible for the maintenance of the system including gathering of business requirements, translating them into new systems and processes, and maintaining system reliability and data integrity. Serves as system administrator for Verus LLC's Salesforce.com environment, while ensuring optimal performance through regular upgrades and internal system audits.
  • Collaborates with CEO, CSO and Business Unit leaders to plan for integration of platforms of any new acquisition targets. Leads IT part of M&A due diligence.
  • Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders and helps translate business requirements into technical designs; defines technical solutions to support business work processes and brings the design to life in Salesforce.com and related tools.
  • Works with all required resources to troubleshoot IT system issues and demonstrates the ability to drive to a successful resolution for all stakeholders.
  • Owns and manages Verus' hardware and software infrastructure; optimizes both constantly to maximize company efficiency while minimizing company costs.
  • Supports Sales, Business unit leaders and CEO/CSO in customer-facing meetings to demonstrate and enhance the value proposition of Verus' IT applications and processes.
Strategy, Planning, Innovation & Transparency
  • Collaborates with CEO, CSO and business unit leaders to create strategic plans for the business' future growth.
  • Advises and participates in strategy meetings to develop and implement new technologies.
  • Stays current on IT technology, such as the emergence of AI.
  • Ensures all statistics regarding department performance are accurately gathered, maintained, and reported.
  • Establishes, maintains, and manages budget and capital expense reporting.
Organization & Vendor Management
  • Sets the direction, optimizes the team, and leads department staff, following the model of empowerment, delegation, and accountability.
  • Effectively manages multiple projects including capitalization, providing direction on the integration of technology infrastructure, user support, administrative systems, and external access.
  • Effectively manages department resources to ensure optimum allocation and utilization of technology and systems.
  • Develops and maintains service-level specifications (KPIs) and effective business relationships with IT vendors to ensure not only the best technology solutions are available, but also optimizes financial arrangements to the benefit of the company.
  • Develops KPIs and SLAs to track and manage IT vendor performance.
Collaboration Platforms, Connectivity, Operations & Security
  • Develops a strategy to ensure Information Technology Applications and Infrastructure can grow with the Company needs, including data security, network infrastructure, server infrastructure and storage.
  • Develops operation and maintenance plans including production support.
  • Partners with leadership team to develop and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan for data, hardware, and the continuity of Information Technology in the event of a business interruption. Develops and maintains business continuity plan (BCP) for IT infrastructure.
  • Partners with business team to identify, monitor and report on SOC audit controls when needed.
  • Ensures that the Company's IT operations adhere to federal, state, and local laws and regulations and manages vendor licensing requirements.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in information systems, business, or related field preferred, or combination of bachelor's degree with related tenure and experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in CRM administration in a complex, high-growth B2B environment, Salesforce knowledge a plus.
  • 10+ years of operational IT management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute complex development projects, driving those to completion within the budgeted cost and timeline parameters.
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce.com and all upstream and downstream applications, systems, and processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations.
  • Experience working in the claims processing arena is a plus.
  • Demonstrated excellence in the following areas:
    • Strong, demonstrated leadership of IT business, IT teams, and external vendors (onshore and offshore).
    • Change management experience with a proven track record of leading and implementing complex IT systems and applications, delivered on time and within budget.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a high-performing team, maximizing their ability to perform.
    • Excellent communication skills which include translating technical details into business language for business stakeholders to maximize effectiveness and collaboration.
    • Demonstrated ability to design, plan, and implement systems and IT processes that enable business growth and scalability.
    • Track recording of designing, planning, and implementing systems and IT processes to enable business processes.
    • Strong business and financial acumen. Understanding of financial concepts, budgeting, planning, and cost management.
    • Exhibits strong results/execution-driven behaviors. Manages deadlines and expectations through strong execution and effective communication.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. This is primarily an in-office role which includes the occasional evening or weekend work as business needs may require.

TRAVEL: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although if needed, the occasional out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
