Director/Senior Director of Project ManagementSanta Clara, CA or RemoteOklo is seeking a Director OR Senior Director of Project Management to lead project delivery across our FOAK nuclear powerhouses, fuel plants, radioisotope production facilities, and supporting infrastructure. This role will establish and scale Oklo’s project management function to ensure deployments are delivered safely on spec, on time, on budget, and in full compliance with regulatory and quality standards.The successful candidate will establish and scale the Project Management Office (PMO), creating governance, processes, and tools to ensure delivery across a portfolio of projects from development to construction to operations. You will oversee full-lifecycle project management—including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, execution, and turnover—while supporting contract negotiations and commercial alignment. You will work with Engineering, Product, Construction, Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Regulatory, Finance, and Business Development teams for successful project delivery.The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record of large-scale capital project delivery in the power, energy, industrial, or nuclear sectors, with experience managing EPC firms, contractors, and regulators. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role in advanced nuclear energy with regular engagement across Oklo’s executive leadership, Board of Directors, customers, and government stakeholders.This role reports to Oklo’s Chief Financial Officer with a strong dotted line to the Chief Technology Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Engineering Officer.Specific responsibilities may include:Lead delivery of Oklo’s FOAK and follow-on projects, including powerhouses and fuel plants, across all phases: planning, construction, commissioning, and handover to operationsDevelop and implement standard project methodologies, templates and tools and provide coaching on application of those processes to ensure consistency across all projectsEstablish and manage Oklo’s Project Management Office (PMO), including governance, decision gates, and standardized processes to ensure consistent execution across projectsManage a portfolio of concurrent projects at varying stages of developmentOwn integrated project schedules, budgets, and risk registers for all projectsCreate project budgets and financial forecasts with the support of project accounting and control staffTrack project progress, metrics and deadlines to ensure projects stay on schedule and within approved budgetsProvide regular, comprehensive reporting to senior management, executive leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders on project status, risks, and opportunitiesCollaborate with Engineering, Product, Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Regulatory, Finance, and Business Development teams to align project delivery with business objectivesIdentify, assess and manage risks for projects, developing strategies to mitigate issuesSupport negotiation and management of key project contracts (EPC, equipment supply, O&M, and PPAs)Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and permitting obligations across all projectsRecruit, develop, and lead a high-performing project management team to support multiple parallel deploymentsDrive continuous improvement in project execution processes, systems, and tools to enable scalability across future reactor deploymentsBuild a high-functioning project management team of Oklo and third-party staff to be deployed across the organizationMinimum Qualifications:10+ years of project management experience with a proven track record delivering capital projects in power, energy, industrial, or nuclear sectorsDemonstrated experience leading large-scale EPC or construction projects, including budgets of $100M+Strong knowledge of project controls (cost, schedule, earned value, risk) and PMIS platforms (Primavera, MS Project)Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and external contractorsExcellent communication and leadership skills, including executive and Board-level reportingBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related fieldBonus Qualifications:Experience with nuclear projects or FOAK energy infrastructure deploymentsFamiliarity with DOE, NRC, and other regulatory agenciesStartup or high-growth company experienceOklo looks for a Director or Senior Director of Project Management who is:Passionate about making advanced nuclear a realityWilling and able to learn quicklyWilling to think differently and do things in new waysComfortable in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environmentExcited to think creatively and solve open-ended problems without over-reliance on past approachesWilling to propose novel and creative solutions to technical problemsAble to communicate technical content and results verballyWho you are:A startup person: You aren’t driven by titles or hierarchy, prefer efficiency, and enjoy a fast-paced team.
