What You'll Do Perform hardware and firmware integration of next generation Tesla industrial energy storage Lead and own hardware/firmware validation, board debug, root-cause analysis, hardware/firmware mitigations, and firmware regression Develop and execute test plans to validate functions, features, and system performance Design and implementing test infrastructure as buck setup or HIL platform to break down system level validation into sub-system level validation Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure functional, performance, and safety requirements are achieved Conduct failure analysis to understand root cause and drive resolution for failures originating in testing and from the field Drive continuous improvement in design and performance by providing direct and accurate feedback to design owners Hands-on with hardware bring-up and prototyping What You'll Bring Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience 3+ years of experience in electronic design, integration, and testing In-depth understanding of HV/LV electronic components (active and passive) and expertise in developing associated characterization/validation testing methods Strong understanding of device characteristics, gate driving circuit design, thermal design, magnetics design (inductors, transformers), power electronics topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC), modulation schemes, and control theories, including analog & digital circuits (MOSFETs, op-amps, regulators, microcontrollers, etc.) Familiarity with networking and digital communication protocols (JSON RPC, TCP/IP, CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI, etc.) Experience with Altium or other schematic entry and PCB layout software Experience with Python, C, C++ Proficiency with basic EE tools (scopes, network analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, CAN tools) Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex hardware/software systems Effective communicator and excellent attention to detail Compensation and Benefits Benefits Aetna PPO and HSA plans > 2 medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Account) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $133,440 - $292,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
