Dental Hygienist Job Description

We are seeking a licensed dental hygienist to join our team at a dental office in Newport News, VA. The ideal candidate will have excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, and patient screening and medical history documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients' dental health

Conduct dental patient screenings and medical history documentation

Collaborate with the dentist to provide high-quality patient care

Stay up-to-date with the latest dental hygiene procedures and technologies

Requirements:

Current dental hygienist license in Virginia

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (where required)

Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, and patient screening and medical history documentation

CPR Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

1-2 years of clinical experience

Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays, and electronic medical record systems

Desire to continue learning and growing clinical skills

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Prolonged periods sitting and standing

Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
