Senior Delivery and Client Relationship Lead at Blu Omega Blu Omega is looking for a Biomedical Data Governance Advisor and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of biomedical research data management. In this high-impact position, you'll advise on data governance standards, develop policies, and champion best practices to ensure the integrity, security, and reusability of vital scientific data. Your expertise will help advance groundbreaking research initiatives by fostering efficient data handling and promoting long-term data sustainability across complex biomedical data types. Location Location: Remote, with some travel anticipated Clearance Needed Clearance Needed: Must be eligible to obtain an NIH Public Trust Base Pay Range $135,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr Responsibilities Provide expert guidance on data governance standards, handling practices, and innovative solutions for diverse biomedical data types, including EHRs, radiological images, digital pathology, and proteomics. Draft and implement policies that support the use and sharing of agency research data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational goals. Lead the development of IT and data project plans and roadmaps; manage data requirements through the intake pipeline, prioritizing projects effectively. Advise on scientific and healthcare data repositories, tools, and standards such as FAIR and FHIR to enhance program capabilities and support long-term scientific growth. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand pain points and requirements, socializing project plans to secure buy-in and foster collaboration. Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies related to data and technology infrastructure, optimizing resource allocation. Stay current on emergent biomedical data types, technologies, and standards, proposing ways to maximize data reuse for accelerated scientific discovery. Qualifications and Requirements Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management and governance within biomedical settings. Masters Degree Extensive experience managing biomedical data types including EHRs, radiology, digital pathology, and proteomics. Proven expertise handling sensitive data such as PII, PHI, CUI, and IP. Strong background in implementing FAIR and FHIR data practices. Experience drafting policies related to data stewardship, management, and compliance. Knowledge of minimum standards aligned with the Gold Standard Science Executive Order. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior-level executives, including SES or GS-15. Nice to Have Skills (Not Required) Additional certifications in data management or governance. Experience with data integration tools or platforms. Familiarity with scientific information management systems. Knowledge of emerging biomedical research technologies and standards.
