About the Role:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in driving the development, design, and optimization of cutting-edge technologies. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions for expanding product lines, focusing particularly on downhole oil tools. You will be responsible for overseeing the design process, conducting product testing, and ensuring that new technologies meet both customer needs and operational requirements. The role emphasizes a combination of hands-on design, testing, and collaboration with internal teams to achieve the highest standards in product development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, evaluate, and qualify new products and technologies, focusing on downhole oil tools and high-performance mechanical systems.
  • Generate conceptual designs and lead design reviews to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements.
  • Oversee and/or conduct product testing, documenting results, and suggesting necessary design changes to improve functionality and performance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to enhance product manufacturability, reduce costs, and optimize parts for efficient assembly.
  • Lead prototype builds, develop assembly procedures, and prepare quality control documentation to ensure adherence to project timelines.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on design, development, and testing of downhole oil tools.
  • Strong expertise in mechanical systems, including high-pressure and thermal systems, as well as material strength evaluation.
  • Proficiency in generating and interpreting mechanical drawings and 3D modeling, with SolidWorks experience being essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to effectively convey technical information and collaborate across teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of material science, particularly in relation to downhole environments and materials.
  • Experience with test planning, execution, and documentation processes, particularly for design qualification and certification.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions based on testing outcomes and design evaluations.
  • Familiarity with cost optimization strategies for manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
