Your contribution as a Senior Laboratory Engineering Technician is crucial in maintaining the quality and credibility of our projects. **Your Impact** **Essential Responsibilities** + Collaborate with Construction Materials Lab Managers to support construction materials testing, inspection, and laboratory groups statewide. + Manage lab accreditations, prepare for lab audits, conduct internal safety audits, maintain quality control, and ensure timely lab test execution. + Maintain laboratory accreditation program for both laboratory and field staff. + Oversee and participate in annual proficiency sample programs. + Assist in business development and strategic planning to expand market share in key markets. + Supervise a team of laboratory technicians, ensuring technical quality of deliverables. + Possess strong knowledge of laboratory tests, field testing procedures, and inspections. + Function as the main point of contact with client representatives. + Demonstrate ability to make sound decisions based on judgment and experience. + Uphold responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, following WSP’s Code of Conduct. + Travel as needed based on project requirements. + Fulfill additional responsibilities as dictated by business needs. **Who You Are** **Required Qualifications** + Over 7 years of experience in construction materials laboratory operations and a deep understanding of lab accreditation procedures. + Proficient in interpreting and adhering to ASTM/AASHTO standards. + Effective communication skills for positive interaction with project team members and clients. + Skilled in supervising and leading staff members. + Exceptional organizational abilities and adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously. + Capable of conducting lab testing tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and samples. + Able to perform duties involving prolonged standing and repetitive movements. + Self-driven, diligent, and able to work both independently and in team settings. + Proficient in completing assignments within specified guidelines and deadlines. + Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). + Must meet background check and driving record requirements as per company policy. + Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies. + Flexible with work schedules to accommodate project needs beyond regular hours.
