The ideal candidate will bring:At least a High School DiplomaMinimum five (5) years of recent experience as a Chief Engineer or related supervisory role in large commercial high-rise facilitiesExperience with chillers, boilers, pumps, and heat exchangersHVAC systems and Building Automation SystemsLife Safety Systems and Utility ServicesElectrical Power Distribution and PlumbingOther mechanical equipment fundamental to building operationsJourneyman or Master HVAC license preferredExcellent communication skills in English, both spoken and writtenStrong organizational and supervisory abilitiesCommitment to workplace safety and regulatory complianceWhat You’ll Do: Key ResponsibilitiesAs Chief Engineer, you will manage a dynamic set of responsibilities crucial to federal properties:Oversee technical operations and maintenance of assigned buildings, ensuring equipment and systems run optimallySupervise, train, and mentor technical staff, fostering teamwork and accountabilityPrepare work schedules, assign duties, and coordinate preventive maintenanceDevelop, implement, and carry out building safety and emergency response plansEnforce security protocols, including logging subcontractor access and maintaining records of entries/exitsEnsure compliance with environmental, health, and security standards and government regulationsRespond promptly to customer requests and complaints with professionalismManage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for services, supplies, and repairsCoordinate modifications to building utilities, services, piping, ductwork, fire safety, and security systemsDevelop and execute operations and energy plans for efficiency and cost savingsPlan and oversee testing, shutdowns, and startups of critical building systemsDocument building inspections on relevant GSA forms with thorough reportingIdentify and communicate dangerous conditions or emergencies to the Project Manager and CORSchedule building services activities to minimize operational disruptionServe as primary responder to emergencies during and after hoursControl access to mechanical/technical areas to maintain securityRegularly conduct preventive maintenance and keep meticulous recordsLead onboarding and ongoing training of new technical staffTrack electrical and mechanical service capabilities and coordinate future upgradesEnsure testing, commissioning, and training for repairs, alterations, and constructionWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation and benefitsOpportunities for advancement and ongoing professional developmentA collaborative environment where leadership and technical skills are valuedSupportive management and a culture that celebrates diversity and inclusionOpportunity to make a tangible difference in federal facility operationsLB&B Associates is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
