Integrative Therapy is seeking a COTA to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year This school-based position in the North/East Metro of the Twin Cities, MN area will allow the therapist to have flexibility in their schedule, support a broad spectrum of ages and abilities ranging from kindergarten through high school, and positively impact their school’s community.

Integrative Therapy provides high-quality occupational therapy (OT) services to school districts in Minnesota. We strive to empower children, educators, parents, and therapists to maximize their potential for learning, success, and joy. Our team prides itself on our expertise in school-based practice based on knowledge of trauma-informed practice, sensory processing, executive functioning, and motor skill development.
We embed support for our therapists intentionally and ongoing through individual meetings with direct OT supervisors and monthly staff meetings to address best practices in school-based OT. Training is provided on MN Department of Education laws and regulations, assistive technology, and any other areas of practice that the therapist needs support to feel confident and effective in their practice. *Primary Job Duties:*
● Builds strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families to provide a safe, welcoming environment.
● Provides treatment intervention to special education students within a school-based school setting based on the student’s identified needs.
● Participates in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEP).
● Partakes in evaluation, IEP, and parent meetings.
● Collaborates with the school’s special education team to support students, staff, and families.
● Serve as a resource to staff and parents.
● Documents services and maintains records following the school district and company policies as well as federal/state law requirements.
*Specific Knowledge and Skill Requirements:*
● Experience working with neurodiverse populations and their families.
● School-based experience is preferred but will train new graduates or therapists transitioning from a pediatric medical model setting.
● Ability to relate and communicate effectively with people of different cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
● Knowledge and practice in the use of occupational therapy models of practice, and evidence-based practice to guide decision-making.
● Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to communicate effectively in group decision-making with parents, teachers, and school administrators.
● Strong written communication and organizational skills.
*Pay & Benefits:*
● Competitive pay based on experience.
● Full-time employees (32 hours or more): Health insurance, dental insurance, 401K, $500 for continuing education.
● Part-time employees (24 hours or more): 401K, $300 for continuing education.

*Certification/License:*
● License to practice as a COTA by the State of Minnesota and NBCOT certification required.
*Education:*
● Graduation from an accredited program of OT.

● Ability to work in a school environment and meet the physical demands of being on your feet and working with students in a treatment setting throughout the day.
