Oh, and we're creating a couple products. And starting a non-profit. So, yeah...awesome things.


We are looking for an amazing Art Director to join our multifarious creative team. And no worries if you don’t know what “multifarious” means, fitting it into this job description was to prove at least one of us isn't an AI bot. But if you’re our person, you’re going to be all over projects ranging from identity systems to publication design to digital ads to UX to video and more. Sure, some days you’ll fall asleep re-sizing banner ads, but other days will be spent concepting new campaigns. Or art directing photo shoots. Or editing the latest video. Things we expect you’ll do in your first year:

- Manage projects through their full life-cycles, from concept to design to revisions to final artwork delivery.

- Magically find the perfect balance of creating unique and innovative designs while minding hard deadlines.

- Build on your leadership journey. Mentor interns, juniors, and contractors in their creative work.

- Establish great working relationships with those on our team and other colleagues. I mean, everyone is pretty great, if you didn’t do this we’d have to wonder about you.

- Help build our creative network. We want the best freelancers, photographers, copywriters, illustrators, developers, animators all on speed dial. (yeah, speed dial, at least I didn't say rolodex.)


What you’ll bring to the table:

- BA or BFA in Design and at least 6+ years of experience working at an agency or in-house.

- Great taste, type skills, and variety showcased in your carefully-curated, no-more-than-10-slides, mostly-recent-work-that-you-were-responsible-for, portfolio.

- Mastery of Flash, Quark Xpress, Microsoft Paint, and Fireworks. If not those, fine, but you should at least be skilled in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Figma.

- Efficiency. We’re constantly cranking on stuff, so you need to be able to produce great work, fast.

- Thick skin. If, this many years in, you’re still being precious about your work, maybe consider another line of work?

- You’re cool. Think of the qualities you want in a co-worker (easy to get along with, flexible, reliable, good taste in music, etc.): Have those.

- Additional skillzz. If you can do UX or video/motion or 3D rendering or copywriting…boom. Heart eyes emoji.


Beyond the paycheck (the part you skipped to):

- Compensation: $95k–$115k plus possible bonuses. Depends mostly on your experience, how much we like you and how good you are at negotiating.

- Growth: We have high expectations that comes with a wide berth for growth. But you have to be motivated and prove you deserve it.

- Benefits: All the good stuff including insurance, PTO, professional development, etc.

- Hybrid schedule: While we believe the best creative environment is in-person interactions with others, there is no requirement to be in-office every day (but our office is pretty great.)
