Expected salary range: $153,000 to $170,000, varying based on experience. Primary Purpose Of Position The Data Solutions Architect will develop and lead the design of robust data architectures that align with business objectives and support data‑driven decision‑making across the organization. This role focuses on creating scalable, high‑performance data solutions that integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring accessibility, consistency, and security. By utilizing modern data technologies and platforms, the Architect will enable data sharing across business functions and transform data into valuable insights for operational and strategic purposes. They will work closely with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements, assess existing systems, design future‑proof architectures, drive innovation with best practices in data governance, and continuously improve data processes. Successful candidates will possess deep knowledge of cloud‑based data platforms, integration technologies, and data governance while mentoring junior team members and shaping the company's data strategy. Primary Duties And Accountabilities Design and implement scalable data architectures, including conceptual, logical, and physical models, to meet business objectives and support data‑driven decision‑making. Lead the development and optimization of data pipelines and warehousing solutions, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility for reporting and intelligence. Collaborate with business and IT teams to translate business needs into comprehensive data solutions, aligning them with strategic goals while maintaining high data quality, integrity, and security. Establish and enforce data governance practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices, fostering a culture of stewardship. Stay informed about emerging data technologies, tools, and trends, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance organizational capabilities and insights. Mentor and guide cross‑functional teams in the design and implementation of data platforms, providing actionable insights for users. Continuously review and optimize existing systems, identifying opportunities for improvement in efficiency, performance, and user satisfaction. Communicate data strategies and complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Promote a data‑driven culture by educating stakeholders on best practices for data management, reporting tools, and leveraging insights. Ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise architecture frameworks, promoting consistency, scalability, and continuous development. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field. 10+ years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in data architecture or engineering. Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and related components. Expertise in data architecture: modeling, ETL, data lakes, business intelligence; proficiency in Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, relational and NoSQL databases. Profound understanding of Data Lake, Data Mart, Data Mesh, and Data Hub concepts. Skill in OLTP and OLAP data modeling and familiarity with Avro, Parquet formats. Ability to define enterprise‑level data standards and guide tool selection. Strong knowledge of data governance, security best practices, and cybersecurity fundamentals in cloud and enterprise environments. Experience with data profiling, cataloging, and maintaining Data Dictionaries. Proficiency with modeling tools such as Erwin, Power Designer, or similar platforms. Ability to translate business requirements into technical data requirements. Proven leadership of cross‑functional teams and large‑scale projects, aligning data strategies with business goals. Excellent communication skills for conveying complex concepts to technical and business stakeholders. Strong consulting and negotiation skills with internal teams and vendors. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree. Familiarity with data governance best practices and privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA), and ability to ensure security through encryption, access controls, and auditability. Expertise in optimizing Azure data solutions for performance, scalability, and cost‑efficiency. Experience with Azure Machine Learning.
