The Role and the Company

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Sales Representative to drive our sales and marketing efforts for ready mix concrete in the bustling Greater Seattle and Greater Tacoma metro area. A successful candidate will provide technical expertise to our customers, grow, and solidify our customer base and create relationships. This role is based in Sumner, WA with travel to sites as required and reports directly to the Area Sales Manager.

What You’ll Get to Do

  • You are responsible for core activities that drive sales.
  • Create new strategic accounts by calling on various prospects in your geographic area.
  • Take our existing customer relationships and elevate them, while also setting your sights on new business growth within different segments.
  • Prepare quotations that meet customer requirements.
  • Gather intelligence and identify profitable project opportunities.
  • Join the brainstorming sessions and help us develop marketing plans, sales targets, and pricing strategies.
  • Use your technical skills and guide customers in the application of our products.
  • Resolve customer issues and maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Be our ambassador in the business community and industry associations, showing them why we're the ones to watch.
  • Contribute to our team culture by actively engaging in team meetings that fuel collaboration and team success.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Proven track record with at least 3-5 years of high-energy, successful sales and marketing experience.
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline or 5 years of sales experience in the construction materials industry is advantageous.
  • Intermediate level with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment and computer systems; visual acuity required to read, verify, and enter various data from documents related to the work.
  • Travel within the great Puget Sound Area.
  • Have a valid WA State Driver’s license with a clean and insurable driving record and be capable of maintaining a clean and insurable driving record.
