Description

Manhattan Youth is seeking certified Lifeguards to join our aquatics team at our Downtown Community Center in Tribeca.

Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring the safety and well-being of patrons in the pool facility. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, personable, and have a strong desire to work with children and families.

This is a part-time position. Our pool is open:

• Monday-Friday 8:30am-9:00pm
• Saturday and Sunday 8:30am-5:00pm

Hours/shifts within these times are flexible. Preference will be given to candidates with evening and/or weekend availability.

Pay: Starting at $18-20 per hour, depending upon experience. Lifeguards with swim instructor experience or experience working directly with children in camp or after-school settings may be eligible for $20-22/hr+

Responsibilities

• Greet all members to the facility and create a warm, welcoming family environment
• Enforce all aquatics facility policies, rules and regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in and around aquatics facility
• Assist children in our after-school programs
• Wear proper uniform and be alert and ready to respond at all times
• Perform other related job duties as required

Qualifications

• Certified Lifeguard (Must hold valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certifications, or equivalent as recognized by the NYC-DOH)
• CPR/AED certification, renewed within last 12 months
• Ability to maintain a positive and energetic attitude and contribute to a positive team culture
• Swim instructor experience or experience working with children is a plus
• Weekend availability is a plus
