Division Overview:

Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees, and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. Location Overview:

Dayton plant was established in 1983 and has been a lead on the implementation of new technologies in the group. Recently a new production module was installed with an investment of $40million. Also, the company has invested heavily in equipment and building upgrades looking to provide the state-of-the-art technologies available to our team and to our customers.

 

Position overview:

The Maintenance Supervisor must possess the desire and ability to work with the operations and maintenance teams looking to learn the Crown processes, working as an active member of the daily activities and projects. As a member of the team, the Maintenance Supervisor will be a partner in the Plant Operations. The Maintenance Supervisor role is to support the coordination of all plant maintenance personnel looking to attend an effective and efficient low-cost plant operation. Design, implement and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with the Plant Engineer and Plant Superintendent to ensure the production of a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

  • Prepare and administer department activities within established guidelines for maintenance and repair of building and equipment
  • Manage all processes and equipment to meet state & federal compliance requirements i.e. – air permits, OHSA safety standards, etc.
  • Maintain plant quality performance standards
  • Able to manage and direct a staff, workforce, and contractors
  • Facilitates and fosters a teamwork-oriented philosophy
  • Responsible to foster and improve safety related matters
  • Support to plans and oversees capital expenditure items including equipment purchases, contracted labor and in-house construction and fabrication projects
  • Provide on and off-hour emergency response including equipment repair, damage control, and assignment of support personnel as needed
  • Provides necessary training to new and existing employees
  • Keeps up on technological changes such as retrofitting machinery to meet today’s new laws and efficiency standards
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
  • Support the production operations and lean 6-sigma projects
  • Set-up spare parts min/max levels and work to organize the processes and layout looking to optimize the availability of spare parts to the team

 


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or other engineering disciplines preferred or equivalent experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with modern equipment maintenance (TPM)
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining a plant preventative maintenance program
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
  • Ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience in capital project management, handling vendors and contractors
  • Experience in managing repair expense budgets
  • Demonstrated ability, experience and understanding of CMMS, work orders and storeroom/spare parts processes
  • Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support
