Job Summary
Support die cast operations. Operate trim press, grind parts, load and unload sand blast and heat treatment machines. 

Responsibilities
•Use trim press to remove excess material from the parts produced by die-casting equipment
•Perform precision smoothing, polishing, or grinding of aluminum parts.
•Set up and operate standard manufacturing equipment. Deburr, buff or polish materials to specifications.
•Load and unload heat treatment and sand blast machines. 
•Pack orders for customer product for shipment
•Reference daily schedule in order to understand production priorities.
•Review work-orders before production begins to ensure that all information is present and accurate and that any special instructions are attended to.
•Visually inspect blaster and hoses to ensure that they are mechanically sound.
•Clean the hopper screen and remove any debris that could cause hopper to be jammed.
•Pull parts from the receiving area in scheduled order.
•Communicate with team in the event that assistance is needed to move awkward or heavy parts.
•Inspect the parts before blasting to ensure that the welds are sound and that ornamental attachments will not be damaged during production.

Basic Qualifications
•High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
•1 - 2 years work with hand tools or other mechanical apptitude required such as press machines, injection molding, or auto mechanic.
•0 - 2 years reading, writing, and interpreting simple drawings.
•Work from written or verbal instructions under general supervision, instruction, and guidance on unusual procedures and irregularities. 
•0 - 2 years experience working in a die cast environment required prior to hiring or appointment to the position.

•35 lbs. frequently
•75 lbs. occasionally
•Sitting, standing, kneeling, climbing, bending, and stooping frequently
•Hazards are· serious cuts, burns, bruises and possible permanent injury; operator required to wear goggles and heavy gloves. While the job has definite hazards, caution by the operator will reduce hazards to a minimum.
•Regular exposure to heat, dirt, grease and fumes.
•Regular exposure to noise levels exceeding 85 db (hearing protection required when exposure exceeds 85db).
 

Union Relationship:
We proudly partner with District No. 8 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers with a closed shop, which means that all hourly employees are union members.
New employees are regarded as probationary for the first 60 working days of their employment.
After probation, the employee will join the union with an initiation fee and monthly dues.
