We take pride in providing a space where people feel comfortable and supported, and were seeking a motivated individual who shares that commitment.Position OverviewWe are looking for a dependable, self-directed, and detail-oriented Evening Custodian who takes pride in delivering consistently high standards of cleanliness and room readiness. This role requires someone who can work independently, problem-solve, communicate clearly, and set up spaces with precision exactly as directed.You will be responsible for routine cleaning, event setup and breakdown, minor repairs, and A/V support. Success in this role depends on reliability, initiative, and the ability to manage responsibilities without direct supervision.Schedule & HoursEvenings during the week, at least four nights per week, from 4:00 PM to close (approx. 10:00 PM)Additional shifts may be available as neededWhat You'll DoFacility & Cleaning ResponsibilitiesPerform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, sanitizing restrooms, and general cleaningMaintain high daily standards of cleanliness across all areasIndependently manage and prioritize tasks to ensure the facility is ready for next-day useSupport Friday evening worship services, community dinners, Hebrew School, and other weekly programsHandle room resets with accuracy, following floor plans and written instructions exactly as providedComplete minor repairs, floor care, and seasonal maintenanceMonitor and restock supplies as neededEvent & A/V SupportRead and follow event setup instructions, schedules, and diagrams with precisionStage rooms correctly and reliably transition spaces between eventsMove tables, chairs, and equipment as requiredAssist clergy and staff during services and special eventsSet up, test, and maintain A/V equipment (microphones, cameras, music stands)Use email, text, and basic computer tools for communication and documentationSecurity & MaintenanceSecure the building nightly by ensuring all doors and windows are lockedCoordinate with security personnel and vendors as neededReport facility issues promptly to the Facilities ManagerWhat Were Looking ForMust be at least 18 years oldHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)Minimum 3 years of custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferredAble to work independently and maintain consistent standards without supervisionStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAble to read, speak, and write English efficientlyComfortable using cleaning equipment, hand tools, and power toolsPhysically able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbsReliable transportation and ability to pass a CORI background checkWhy Join Us?Competitive hourly wage based on experienceConsistent evening schedule with some flexibilityPaid time offHealth insurance available for full-time employeesSupportive, respectful work environmentHow to ApplyIf you take pride in your work and are ready to be a key part of our team, please submit your resume.
